Morgana Finishing Package For Scan Plus

Scan Plus Photo-Litho of Manchester has chosen Morgana products to equip a new department that finishes output from its 6-colour HP Indigo Platinum press.

Having operated as a repro-house for over 20 years, Scan Plus moved into digital print to counter the decline in its original business. Today, both operations are run in tandem, but with digital print very much in the ascendant as far as growth is concerned. “We were fortunate”, explains works manager David James, “that we had a very loyal customer base who, although they could no longer use our repro services, were happy to support our digital print venture.”

The customer base consists of many advertising agencies, as well as direct clients. This makes for an interesting mix of work; the vast majority being short run colour. “Quite frankly” David James admits “ we didn’t know an awful lot about the finishing side of things and we were happy to accept HP Indigo’s recommendation that we talk to Morgana.”

The result of these discussions was the purchase of a digital finishing package consisting of a Morgana AutoCreaser, an EBA 550 programmatic guillotine and a Foldnak 8 bookletmaker. “We have been very happy with the performance of our finishing equipment” David comments, “for in addition to meeting our technical requirements – such as the AutoCreaser’s.
