Morgana Launches New DigiCreaser at Graph Expo

Morgana Systems, pioneers in the development of easy-to-use equipment designed to finish digital print, will use Graph Expo as the launch pad for its latest creasing product – the DigiCreaser. This now becomes part of the most comprehensive range of creasing equipment available, offering an upgrade path from the simplest manual machines to sophisticated multi-functional units.

The new DigiCreaser can be supplied as a bench-top or floor-standing machine and is intended to fill the gap between semi-automatic models like the Morgana Electro-Creaser and fully automatic units, such as the best-selling AutoCreaser. Simple to operate and fully automatic after feeding, it uses exactly the same blade and anvil creasing technique as the AutoCreaser to ensure optimum quality and minimize any risk of damage to the substrate. It operates at speeds up to 4,000 sheets per hour, takes a maximum size of 25.5 inches x 13 inches and has the ability to crease 9 times on the sheet with a minimum distance of 0.015 inches between creases.

The new creaser is extremely simple to use and has a ‘head-up’ display that provides the operator with a series of prompts for all machine functions. Counting, batching and perforating are all standard features. “We have developed the DigiCreaser” says Morgana Export Director Andy Cooper, “in response to demand from printers who need speed of throughput but who are not working with volumes sufficient to justify the purchase of a fully automatic model.”  This is reflected in the price, which is not much more than half that of the AutoCreaser 33.

Graph Expo will see all Morgana’s creasing products on show, including the manual DocuCrease, the semi-automatic Electro-Creaser and both the AutoCreaser 33 and 50, the latter being a bigger, faster model capable of performing up to 6,500 creases per hour and 16 creases in a single pass. The DigiFold, which combines the operations of creasing and folding in a single machine will also be displayed, as will the recently introduced Morgana DocuMaster, which is a complete finishing system performing the functions of feeding, creasing and booklet making.

In addition to creasing equipment, Morgana will also show its highly automated DocuFold and Major folding machines, as well as numbering machines and a Kwikfold booklet maker with trimmer.
