The DocuMaster has been a huge success since it’s release in 2005. The product was conceived to provide a near-line booklet making system for those printers producing pre collated sets from their digital print engines.
The initial problem was that very often the cover and/or bottom (centre) sheets need to be creased to eliminate cracking when stitching and folding. This meant that these sheets needed to be removed from the set, creased, and then re-collated.
Since the release of DocuMaster even more Digital Print Engines have multiple paper feed trays and can therefore print a complete job in one operation.
The original benefits of the DocuMaster are as powerful as ever as it eliminates those tedious and time consuming operations because it creases the sheets as part of the feeding and bookletmaking operation.
Simplicity of operation is key to finishing digitally printed work because run lengths are often short and variable data is becoming increasingly popular. Many of our customers have asked when bindery products will be JDF ready as the pre-press and press products are now mostly compliant and fit within common work-flow processes.
This is why Morgana have released the NEW DocuMaster which is JDF ready and can now handle variable data books. The DocuMaster can now send and receive data via a web browser and is fully ready to be integrated into a complete work-flow and MIS package.
